SYLVANIA 13840 - 175PAR38/HEAT/RED 120V

This lamp is not an LED; it is a conventional 175 Watt Infrared Heat Lamp. Do not be confused by the term “Infrared”. The term “infrared” refers to the type of heat the lamp generates, not the colour of the light.

This is a Infrared heat lamp with a Red coating on the glass to create a Red colour of light. This lamp has a BR38 or PAR38 shape and features an E26 Medium Screw base (standard light bulb base). There are slight differences between PAR and BR but for the use of this lamp it is inconsequential.

It is most commonly used at hot tables in restaurants and delis to keep food warm and is also employed in bathrooms to provide a comforting heat source. However, this high-wattage, high-heat lamp can pose a serious fire hazard if used improperly or in a fixture that is not rated for a heat lamp, so be sure to check the rating on the fixture if you are making changes. There is no LED replacement for this lamp
